An Ode to Hill & Adamson

Something rather lovely to share on a Friday; a new video piece by Maisie Maud Broadhead and directed by Jack Cole, titled ‘An Ode to Hill and Adamson‘ (2011). The film was made especially for the National Gallery’s forthcoming exhibition ‘Seduced by Art: Photography Past and Present‘ (31 October 2012 – 20 January 2013) and will be shown alongside an 1840s portrait by Scottish photographers David Octavius Hill and Robert Adamson.

Broadhead has established herself as an artist whose photographs create modern-day reinterpretations of scenes from historical painting, including in her first UK solo show The House of Fake at the Sarah Myerscough Gallery (2010). Find out more about the artist via her website.
